PTZ - stands for Pan (control of the horizontal movements), Tilt (control of the vertical movements and Zoom which controls the magnification of the image. PTZ is the general term used and can be applied as a PTZ camera, PTZ software, PTZ controllers and more

Whilst a PTZ enabled camera is more expensive that a simple static unit it does have enormous flexibility and can possible monitor the same area as 5 or 10 static units. The image is a typical Dome style PTZ camera.
